How to troubleshoot and replace the Amana 7200 heater element. Our Amana NED7200TW stopped producing heat to dry our clothes. Together with my 8 year old son, we decided to put this video together to help others that may experience the same problem. I've been working at this disassembly all day, as well as searching the internet for videos and a maintenance manual for assistance, only to no avail. Steps: 1. Remove electric plug from wall. (VERY IMPORTANT) 2. Disconnect the Vent Hose from the back of the dryer. 3. Ensure you move the dryer out from the wall to have adequate working space. 4. Remove five screws from the bottom rear vent panel. 5. Remove the panel and dust pipe. 6. Take a picture of the heater element wiring for reinstallation. 7. Remove wires with needle nose pliers. 8. Locate the two screws that hold the heater element in place, one at the rear and the one at the front of the heater element. You will need an offset cross tip screwdriver, or mini rachet. Remove screws. 9. Remove the heater element by pushing forward and pulling the back panel of the dryer to the rear until it drops free. 10. Remove screws from the heater element casing and take off top panel. 11. Conduct a continuity check of the heater coil with a multimeter, as well as the thermostat (the round black disk looking object attached to the heater element case) by placing the leads at each end. 12.
